I finally got fed up with the various restrictions Blogger and Google are presenting. I am therefore moving "On the Wing" to Wordpress. It's the same old Exile, and I have managed to move the archives from Blogger to the new site.

I will allow this blog to stand for some time yet, but all the new stuff is going to be on the new site. I have to get a few things sorted out "over there", but it will be business as usual as soon as I can get it organised. It may not be as colourful, but it may be more fun.

It's Not Easy being Green.

Having found that man made global warming is a swindle number designed to keep thousands of otherwise unnecessary jobs afloat, and that global warming is actally a function of the sun and not CO2, I have been Googling round for further proof to support my suspicions.
The myth of CO2 effects is not going to go away just yet but I no longer buy the hype. Some of the arguements one hears are downright misleading.
Surprise, surprise, there are others that are getting the idea. The greenies are maybe in for a fight that they didn't bargain for. Some people are doing what they can to argue against the current belief that "we are destroying ourselves" by looking at what we produce and how we use it. They have some surprising results to offer. I found an article in The Times and couldn't resist bringing this extract from the fact file;

Shattering the great green myths.

— Traditional nappies are as bad as disposables, a study by the Environment Agency found. While throwaway nappies make up 0.1 per cent of landfill waste, the cloth variety are a waste of energy, clean water and detergent.

— Paper bags cause more global warming than plastic. They need much more space to store so require extra energy to transport them from manufacturers to shops.

— Diesel trains in rural Britain are more polluting than 4x4 vehicles. Douglas Alexander, when Transport Secretary, said: “If ten or fewer people travel in a Sprinter [train], it would be less environmentally damaging to give them each a Land Rover Freelander and tell them to drive”

— Burning wood for fuel is better for the environment than recycling it, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs discovered.

— Organic dairy cows are worse for the climate. They produce less milk so their methane emissions per litre are higher. [Translation: They fart more per litre milk!]

— Someone who installs a “green” lightbulb undoes a year’s worth of energy-saving by buying two bags of imported veg, as so much carbon is wasted flying the food to Britain.

— Trees, regarded as shields against global warming because they absorb carbon, were found by German scientists to be major producers of methane, a much more harmful greenhouse gas.

Well now, I burn wood to warm my home, I don't eat that many veggies, preferring cold cuts to cold salads, I do buy organically produced milk (it tastes better) and although I don't own a Land Rover, I do drive to the local supermarket. So I guess I'm doing my bit.

Copenhagen is as a rule, a pretty friendly sort of town. It opens its doors to some pretty far out cultural events to highlight the plight of many a poor soul and there is always some event going on somewhere.
Most recently, the town centre has been the showcase for a football tournament for homeless people from all over the world, played in the town square on the paving stones outside the town hall. The homeless' own football world cup. (Soccer football, for the american readers.) The Scots took the championship.
Having never been so unfortunate so as to be totally homeless, I have no idea what these people go through, but I am a little impressed by the thought of all these teams of homeless, who had the time and energy to get organised into teams, train, and play football whilst not looking for a place to live. I daresay the whole thing was funded by some charitable organisation as the hotel bill for a week in Denmark is pretty steep, especially if you come from a poor African country, and I daresay the plane ticket costs more than five cents and a couple of coca cola tins. Money well spent? I don't know.

The thing is, that some of these subsidised football playing ambassadors for the homeless have apparently taken a shine to Denmark. Their visas ran out on sunday and they should all have been on their way home yesterday. Not so. Fifteen of them have disappeared into the Danish countryside. Or Copenhagens streets. No one is quite sure yet. The police are looking for them still.
The fifteen players are from Burundi (7), Liberia (3), Cameroun (4) and Afghanistan (1). I daresay they have been talking with their homeless Danish counterparts and have come to the conclusion, that is probably more lucrative to be homeless in Denmark than it is back home.

It may be time to redefine the offside rule.

Especially for the homeless footballers.

Intel. Short for, and on, Intelligence?

It isn't every day that you see something this silly, so I couldn't resist it! I spotted this one in "The Times". Note the picure;

Intel, the computer chip maker, has been forced to apologise for an advertisement which has been widely criticised as racist.

The ad, which was for a new generation of micro-processors, showed six black sprinters crouched in the start position in front a white man wearing a shirt and chinos in an office.

Above the image was a slogan which read: "Multiply computer performance and maximise the power of your employees."

And everyone that saw the ad went racist ballistic. Six black men bowing down before a white slave driver. What imaginative advertising. Intel have apologised profusely and say that they made a gross error, or words to that effect.

It offended me too. Not because the six guys were black, well not entirely because they were black, I mean, there must be a white sprinter somewhere in the world, but not one of them is wearing a skull cap, which makes it anti-semitic, there are no turbans, so it's also anti asian, there isn't one Irishman to be seen, unless it's the white guy, no women are represented, none of them are "physically challenged"...

Get my point? I could go on pointing out the exclusions to the ad but I thought it would make a good competition for all my readers.

So feel free. Who else felt "insulted"?

This was close to a "Bullshit award"!

Brussels or Bust

I don't believe it has escaped anybody's attention. I'm pretty sure that the most of Europe has heard of the coming demonstration in Brussels on the 11th of September.
Personally, I'm looking forward to it. I have booked my flight and hotel today. This is going to cost me money that I can ill afford and holiday time that I would perhaps have liked to spend with my family but I know deep down that I have to go.
I may even get up and speak at the demo. I'm still pondering that possibility. I realise that there are others who are better equipped and probably far more eloquent in whatever it is they will say, and I am sure that they will bring much the same message as I would. Maybe, a few words from the common man would be useful. What if we held a demo and nobody spoke because they were all afraid to do so?

The final rush is on. I know this because I am involved to a certain degree. I speak with one of the organisers regularly and keep an eye on developments. Many countries have pledged their support and I know a few individuals who are going to be there. There are others that I dearly want to meet, knowing them only through the electronic world of the internet and e-mail exchanges. Either way, we are all going to be there with one common purpose. To tell our EU politicians that we have had enough, and that it is now more than enough and we have taken far too many steps toward the islamisation of our homelands. We want it stopped. Now.

If anyone is thinking twice about being there, but can be there, then there really is only one course of action open. Make the sacrifice. Spend the money. Take the time.
At least then, you can honestly say that you were there, and that you tried to make your point and didn't just stand idly by and see your homeland ruined by foreign forces who silently invaded while you did nothing.

This is the time for all good men, and women for that matter, to get up and do something. The more the better.

Let's start to fight back.

I received an email today. A bit sceptical at first, because of some of the wording, I decided to follow the link given to me in the mail. What I experienced over the next hour blew me away.

You have to see this documentary before it gets banned and pulled off the internet. It explodes all the theories of man made global warming. I promise, you will not be disappointed. It also explains why the third world is being held back. This is outrageous. Invest an hour of your life in this.

Three Little Pigs.

Get a good look at these three here. They are, from left to right, Asmaa Abdol-Hamid, Frank Aaen, and finally, Abdul Wahid Pedersen.

Asmaa Abdol-Hamid is a candidate for the Danish parliament, running on the communist, left-wing extremist "Enhedslisten" ticket. She believes it is right and proper and "legitimate" that insurgents in Iraq attack and kill Danish soldiers. She defends it. Defends terrorists. She refers to the Danish forces as an occupying army and compares the insurgents to the Danish Resistance during WWII. Big mistake!

Frank Aaen is the party leader for "Enhedslisten" and a member of the Danish parliament. He defends her. And also thinks it is right and legitimate that Danish troops are the target for insurgent attacks. He supports the enemy.

Abdul Wahid Pedersen, a failed christian, failed buddhist and now, calling himself an Imam, is a muslim convert and he too thinks all this is right and proper.

I hope then, that they would see the logic and defend it, if we began to arm ourselves and attack the immigrant terrorist-infested muslim population that is invading Europe, along with their treasonous supporters.
Which would put these three directly in the firing line.

To Whom am I Speaking?

It doesn't come as a surprise to read today, that the police intelligence agency in Denmark (PET, Politiets Efterretningstjeneste) is in contact with the Imams in this country. This contact is indeed to be expanded according to the newspaper, Jyllands Posten. The idea is, that contact with these people is an attempt by PET to prevent, or reduce, the threat of islamic terrorism. According to the article, PET thinks it is important to have contact and dialogue with groups that have "controversial views".

Hmmm.....

I wonder. Wouldn't it be better to simply round them up and tell them point blank that we won't stand for any terrorist activity coming from their organisations, faith or countrymen. In fact, why shouldn't we simply disband these islamic "front" organisations, by law, and make them illegal? The trail of evidence leading back to many terrorist organisations is there. The trail of money that gets sent to various terrorist organisations is there. How much does it take?

How long must we accept that these organisations survive as they do, with their imams calling themselves community leaders? Why do people living in this country have to have seperate communities? Surely, if one is a citizen in this country, one does not need to have a "community" of one's own?

Well, we westerners do have communities. We have organised ourselves after our political ideals and have political parties. Our communities are based on politics. We have political fanatics too. Even political extremists. In the name of democracy, we tolerate these political differences.
The muslims however, are organised by their religion. Therefore they have no need of political parties. There is only Islam. One total system. Hardly tolerant.

But that is perhaps the difference between us and the muslims. PET doesn't need to have dialogue with political parties. Why? Because even the most radical politician in this land doesn't have a bunch of murdering thugs at their disposal, ready to bomb airports or train stations, or blow themselves up in markets and streets.

So it does come as a bit of a surprise to realise, that the politicians that rule our country, give political creedence to these people by engaging in "dialogue" with them, albeit through the PET, whilst being fully aware of the fact that it is these very people that can "reduce or prevent terrorism", or by the logic of reason, that they can also therefore, increase and carry out terrorist acts. After all, if one has influence in one direction, then surely one has influence in the other.

Think about that.

This has everything you need. A complete office pack, web browsers, e-mail programme, in fact everything you need and more, all on a linux based operating system.

I hate to sound like an advert, but this really works! Once I get used to using it, I think I'll probably reprogramme this baby too.

I just had to share this. And no, noone is paying me to do so!
